What is SpectralDR technology?

SpectralDR is KA Imaging’s patented multi-layer detector technology that separates X-ray energy information during a single exposure.

This enables the generation of multiple image outputs from one acquisition, such as:

  • Conventional-appearance radiographic images
  • Soft-tissue-optimized images (or low-z images)
  • Bone-enhanced images (high-z images)
  • Material-based colorized images
Unlike traditional dual-exposure techniques, SpectralDR works in a single exposure, supporting efficient workflows without motion artifacts or increased radiation dose.
This capability provides additional imaging information that may support clinical, research, and inspection workflows.

Designed for real-world workflows

Reveal detectors are designed to integrate with existing X-ray systems and workflows, supporting seamless adoption across environments.

Key platform characteristics include:

Single-exposure spectral imaging

Compatibility with standard X-ray generators

No additional workflow steps required

Portable and fixed system integration options

Configurations for medical, industrial, research, and security applications

This flexibility allows organizations to expand imaging capability without fundamentally changing established processes.

The Reveal platform advantage

By combining spectral imaging capability with familiar radiography workflows, Reveal detectors provide a foundation for expanded imaging insight.
The Reveal platform enables organizations to:

Access spectral image information in a single exposure

Expand imaging capability without additional imaging sessions

Support diverse applications using a consistent technology platform

Integrate spectral imaging into existing X-ray environments
