(Waterloo, October 17, 2024) – Waterloo, ON — X-ray manufacturer KA Imaging has officially launched the Reveal™ R 35C, a ruggedized version of its triple-energy X-ray detector, designed for non-destructive testing (NDT) in harsher industrial environments. This next-generation detector features a reinforced enclosure that enables reliable performance in challenging conditions, while still offering the cutting-edge SpectralDR® technology.
The Reveal R 35C is built for durability in environments such as construction sites, aerospace manufacturing facilities, and field inspections. Its IP55 rating and ruggedized design protect against dust, water, and physical impacts, making it ideal for use in demanding NDT settings.
“Introducing the rugged enclosure to our Reveal line is a natural evolution in response to the needs of our customers,” said Amol Karnick, President and CEO of KA Imaging. “The Reveal R 35C provides the same superior imaging capability, but now with added protection, allowing operators to conduct inspections in more challenging environments with confidence.”
The Reveal R 35C maintains the benefits of KA Imaging’s exclusive SpectralDR® technology, which allows for three types of images—traditional digital radiography (DR), low-density, and high-density materials—using a single X-ray exposure. This feature eliminates motion artifacts that occur in dual-energy systems, while providing detailed material differentiation without complex hardware adjustments.
“Our goal with the Reveal R 35C was to extend the versatility of SpectralDR® by making the detector more robust,” said Dr. Karim Karim, CTO of KA Imaging. “This detector is now ready to go beyond controlled environments and excel where durability is key, without compromising on image quality.”
Ideal for various industries such as aerospace, construction, electronics, security, and Explosive Ordnance Detection (EOD), the Reveal R 35C provides flexibility and efficiency, while being compatible with existing X-ray sources and techniques.
