KA Imaging Technology Featured in Two RSNA Abstracts Highlighting Research into Cardiac Imaging Applications

(Waterloo, Nov 18, 2025) – KA Imaging announced that its Reveal™ 35C detector with SpectralDR® technology will be featured in two scientific presentations at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting.

The abstracts, led by independent investigators, explore the potential role of dual-energy chest X-ray in cardiac imaging applications:

  • Accuracy of Dual-Energy Compared to Standard Chest X-ray for Detection of Coronary Artery Calcifications as an Opportunistic Screening Tool
This study compared dual-energy chest X-ray with standard X-ray, using CT as a reference, and reported higher sensitivity and reader agreement for detecting coronary artery calcification. According to the study authors, “if validated in larger studies, this approach could fundamentally expand the reach of early coronary artery disease detection and prevention”.
  • Performance of Dual-Energy Chest X-ray, Compared to Standard CXR and CT, for Diagnosis of Clinically Confirmed Coronary Artery Disease
Investigators reported that dual-energy chest X-ray showed improved performance over standard X-ray, with results approaching those of non-gated CT for detecting coronary calcification. According to the study authors, “given its lower radiation dose and wider accessibility, DEX-CXR may represent a practical, cost-effective opportunistic screening tool for coronary calcium detection and cardiovascular risk assessment”.

“These results add to the growing body of independent research on the potential applications of dual-energy chest X-ray,” said Amol Karnick, President and CEO at KA Imaging. “Reveal 35C is currently cleared to assist visualization of anatomy by reducing overlapping structures, and we are excited to see clinicians exploring new ways this technology could contribute to patient care.”

Both abstracts will be presented at session T5A-SPCA Cardiac Imaging Tuesday Afternoon Poster Discussions I, on Tuesday Dec. 2 at 12:15 PM CST.
