VCA Education Solutions for Health Professionals – Dual Energy Radiography
Dr. Karim S. Karim, CTO of KA Imaging, and Jay Potipcoe, Applications Specialist, will be presenting a live webinar on September 25, 2021, specifically tailored to imaging technologists about single exposure dual-energy subtraction X-ray.
They will first explain the physics – defining dual-energy subtraction (DES) X-ray, reviewing the limitations of old DES techniques, and clarifying how a single-exposure detector can overcome previous issues.
The presentation will next include the specifics of dual-energy image interpretation and the clinical benefits of detecting several conditions, including small nodules, pneumonia, pneumothorax, and coronary calcifications. The clinical applications of dual-energy X-ray will also be examined and explained.
Reveal™ 35C is KA Imaging’s single exposure dual-energy subtraction X-ray detector which addressed previous technological shortfalls. With just one exposure, the triple-layer detector simultaneously delivers DR, bone, and tissue images with no motion artifacts. It is FDA 510(k) cleared and Health Canada approved, with promising initial results shown from clinical trails.
This Live Webinar content has been approved by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) for up to 1.75 hours of Category A credit in continuing Education, recognized by the CAMRT’s provincial organizations and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART). A certificate of attendance will be issued to participants.
